Scenery
The scenery is created with more than 300 digital photos, comprising the
airports 63 buildings very detailed. In real life EKRK are used by the
business travellers and VIP’s, wanting a quick and easy gateway to Denmark
and Greater Copenhagen Area, and serve as a relief for the heavy trafficked
international airport Kastrup. Hence, traffic is mainly light jets like Lear
jet and Citations, and large, medium and small size propeller planes. EKRK
has two Runways 03/21-1500x32m, and 11/29 1799x32, ILS equipped. The airport
serves as a custom and immigration point for international flights, and a
base for all major Danish Air Taxi companies. From 1st Oct. 2004, the Royal
Danish Air Force stationed its SAR unit Esk.722 here too. With own FBO (full
scale ground handling service),
rental possibilities for all types of planes, aircraft retailers and agents,
and with huge Hangar, maintenance facilities and a pilot shop, Roskilde is
very attractive, and the centre of GA activities in the country. Most
Important, EKRK is Denmark’s primary Pilot education centre, with several
flight schools and academies taking you all the way from PPL to ATPL. Over
the years, they have supplied pilots to major airliners like SAS and Fin
Air, and many are the pilots, who never will forget the day they “gone solo”
over the green fields surrounding the busy airport. And EKRK-Roskilde is
busy. Every day, the airspace (only 7 km from Kastrup CTR) is crowded with
School planes training traffic pattern, touch and goes, blended with
ordinary flights, keeping the ATC controllers very busy. In fact Year,
statistically, around every 5th minute a plane departs or arrives from the
field. Besides the commercial part, the airport also host Roskilde Flying
Club, Denmark’s largest, the Royal Danish Aero Club, and a Parachuting club
Included are, DTX, Seasonal & Night textures, AF2, links to REAL Charts and
info about the Airport and its habitants. You also find IVAO Denmark’s new
Virtual flight school in the airport. Enjoy.
